The Duchess of Sussex’s Suits co-star has revealed the ‘genius’ travel hack he learned from her while filming the American legal drama.

Patrick J. Adams, hailing from Toronto, Canada, has taken a moment to reminisce about his experiences working with Meghan Markle on their famed TV series. Both aged 44, Patrick shared they’ve kept in contact after Meghan reached out to him the previous year.

As he spoke about potentially joining a future season of With Love with his wife, Troian Bellisario, Patrick commended Meghan for having certain industry insights that aren’t common knowledge to most.

Reflecting on their shared time on set, Adams recounted a humorous story about Meghan’s thorough method of packing a suitcase.

The actor revealed that Meghan puts dryer sheets in her travel bag when she packs it, admitting he was impressed by the tip, calling it ‘so genius.’

“Rather than just piling things in,” Patrick told People, “I imagine Meghan would say, ‘Properly pack a bag by perfectly folding everything and slipping dryer sheets in between.’

Meghan and Adam’s characters, Rachel Zane and Mike Ross, were love interests in Suits and two of the show’s central characters.

Their on-screen relationship culminated in a wedding during the series’s seventh season.

The Suits co-star, Patrick J. Adams, disclosed the clever travel tip he picked from Meghan Markle during the filming of the legal drama, taking it back to 2012 in Toronto.

Both actors starred on the USA Network series from its premiere in 2011 until Markle’s departure at the end of the seventh season.

At the time of her exit from the series, Meghan was in a relationship with Prince Harry, whom she married in May 2018.

Suits continued for two more seasons after her departure, before concluding in 2019.

Adams has recently revisited the world of Suits in a novel way by co-hosting a rewatch podcast called Sidebar: A Suits Watch Podcast, together with castmate Sarah Rafferty.

The podcast came in response to the show’s renewed popularity on streaming platforms, particularly Netflix, where it experienced a significant resurgence in 2023 and 2024.

Following the launch of the podcast, Adams said that Meghan reached out to offer her support, which he said was ‘so lovely’ after ‘so many years apart’.

Speaking on a Q&A on Reddit in October 2024, he wrote: ‘Upon hearing about the podcast, I got a lovely text, saying how excited she was for us and asking how she could help in any way,’

After a fan asked: ‘Is it weird now that your co-star is now royalty? Are you still in touch?’

Patrick, who played Mike Ross in the popular legal drama, reflected on his time working with Meghan - and he revealed they have stayed in touch years after the show concluded (seen together as Rachel Zane and Mike Ross in Suits)

Earlier this year, spin off Suits LA, debuted on Peacock, and Meghan delivered a judicious verdict about the new legal drama.

‘I love that it gets a new breath of fresh air,’ she told People in an interview promoting her new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan.

When asked about having the royal, or any of the original Suits cast as part of Suits LA, creator Aaron Korsh was also judicious when he attended the show’s premiere in February.

‘So, look, to me, we have thought about whether it be Meghan or any of the other cast members coming on and playing themselves as an actor,’ Korsh told the publication.

‘I think for me that’s a little… My brain blows up at the thought of that.’

‘So I think it blows up the world too much,’ he explained.

‘Obviously, if Meghan wants to come back under any circumstances, Meghan can come back.’

Suits LA focuses on a law firm lead by former New York prosecutor Ted Black, who builds a practice in Los Angeles specialising in criminal defence and entertainment law.

One character, Erica Rollins, played by Lex Scott Davis, appears to be modelled somewhat on Rachel Zane.

It comes after Meghan appeared to make a subtle reference to her old lifestyle blog The Tig.

The Duchess of Sussex shared a series of snaps taken during the filming of With Love, Meghan season two – including photographs of her children, Prince Archie, six, and Lilibet, four.

The last slide of her Instagram carousel included a ‘playlist’ she had made for filming, including hits like Dancing in the Moonlight by King Harvest and Into the Mystic by Van Morrison.

And the song she listed as track 17, The Frim Fram Sauce by Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, appeared to be a reference to Meghan’s old lifestyle blog, the Tig, which she ran from 2014 to 2017.

The phrase ‘Frim Fram’ appears to be a reference to the old sixteenth century slang term ‘flymflam’, meaning ‘nonsense’ or ‘deceit’.

Frim Fram Inc was also the company behind Meghan’s popular lifestyle blog, The Tig, which she shut down in April 2017 before marrying Prince Harry and joining the royal family.

Her latest post will likely raise speculation among fans about a potential return of The Tig – parts of which can still be found online – which the Duchess once used to share her views on everything from feminism to her passion for philanthropy.

The Tig marked Meghan’s first venture into the world of lifestyle and seems to have served as inspiration for her latest pursuits, such as her cookery show with Netflix, With Love, Meghan, and her brand, As ever.
