A Brazilian wonderkid has claimed Chelsea were interested in signing him in the summer.

The Blues had another busy transfer window as owner Todd Boehly gave Mauricio Pochettino his full backing by bringing in the likes of Moises Caicedo, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson.

They also added Brazilian trio Deivid Washington, Andrey Santos and Angelo to their ranks, and it has now been revealed that they were keen on another teenage talent from the South American nation.

‘There was a proposal from Chelsea months ago, but I talk a lot with my agent and my parents and they try to give me as little information as possible,’ he said, as quoted by talkSPORT.

Arsenal and Barcelona have also been linked with making a move to sign Moscardo

‘They say there is not long until the end of the season, they tell me to dedicate myself and do well, and that at the end of the season, there will be good things.’

Moscardo, who has already made 16 appearances in Brazil’s top division despite only turning 18 in September, insists he remains committed to Corinthians for the remainder of the season which is due to end in early December. The Brazilian outfit have had a disappointing campaign, and currently sit 11th in Serie A.

He has hinted that he could be tempted by a big move soon, though, offering hope to potential buyers ahead of the January transfer window opening.

Moscardo continued: ‘My father knows a few things, he prefers not to tell me so as not to influence my head too much, to end up taking a little bit of my focus here, he says: “Here your focus is on Corinthians”.

‘Of course there’s interest from various clubs, I’ve also heard about it, there was strong interest from Chelsea a few months ago, but if you stop to think about where I’m going now, at this moment, it’s not good.

‘I want to help Corinthians now to get them out of this situation. Let’s wait for the season to end, there are still a few games to go, and we’ll see what we can do.’
