Transfer Deadline Day did not disappoint with three of the Premier League’s biggest clubs all completing late blockbuster deals.

It meant that spending in England’s top-flight surpassed £1.8billion over the course of the summer window.

Arsenal managed to complete the signing of Raheem Sterling on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

This reunion means reconnecting with Mikel Arteta, with whom he enjoyed significant success during their time together at Manchester City. During their last season, Sterling registered 53 goal involvements under Arteta’s guidance.

The Gunners made moves by bringing in Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto on a loan deal, while allowing Aaron Ramsdale to transfer to Southampton for £25 million. Additionally, Eddie Nketiah made a move to Crystal Palace for a fee of £30 million.

They also allowed Reiss Nelson to join London neighbours Fulham on a season-long loan deal.

While Chelsea allowed Sterling to join one of their rivals, the Blues completed a surprise deal to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United.

The winger moves to Stamford Bridge on a season-long loan deal with an obligation for the move to be made permanent for £25m next summer.

Chelsea were close to being the big winners on deadline day but were denied a sensational deal to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

The prolific striker had been strongly linked to a move to west London. However, without an agreement with either the Blues or any Saudi Arabian club, it appears he will return to Naples, where he’s presently sidelined from the first team.

The biggest deal involving a Premier League side on deadline day belonged to Manchester United who completed the signing of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain for £50.5m.

The midfielder comes into the club to offer stability in defensive midfield, who has replaced Scott McTominay, with the Scotland international joining Napoli in a deal worth £27.5m.

It was a departure that left Erik ten Hag feeling gutted, with the Dutch boss admitting that the move was sanctioned with Profit and Sustainability Rules in mind.

As well as signing Nketiah from Arsenal, Crystal Palace were among the busiest clubs as they signed Maxence Lacroix from Wolfsburg for a fee of £21m and Trevoh Chalobah on a loan deal from Chelsea.

They also allowed Odsonne Edouard to join newly-promoted Leicester on a season-long loan.

Elsewhere, West Ham signed Carlos Soler on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, Nottingham Forest completed a loan deal to sign James Ward-Prowse, while Everton completed a late swoop to sign Armando Broja.

The Chelsea forward moved to Goodison Park on a season-long loan deal with the option to make it permanent for £30m.

In terms of outgoings, Billy Gilmour left Brighton to join Napoli in a deal worth £13.5m.

Meanwhile Ivan Toney signed his deal to join Saudi Arabia side Al Ahli for a fee of £40million.

That deal sees the former Brentford striker pocket £50m on the three-year contract that he’s penned.

Away from the Premier League, Birmingham City completed a staggering deal for Fulham’s Jay Stansfield.

The deal – which could cost up to £20m – is a record transfer for a League One side.
