There are some thrilling games planned in the WSL this weekend and perhaps the pick of the bunch sees current champions Chelsea host potential challengers Manchester United.

The Blues are currently leading the way at the top, having won all but two of their matches so far. But they only boast a three-point lead over Manchester City in second. This season has not been so smooth for United as they are further back in fourth, currently seven points behind Chelsea.

It seems that if United are to really make a go at winning the title this season, having got so close last season, they need to get all three points in London this weekend. What’s more, manager Marc Skinner has been under some pressure from fans to improve results recently.

Here is all you need to know about Chelsea vs Man Utd in the WSL this weekend.

Chelsea confirmed lineup vs Man Utd (4-2-3-1): Hampton; Lawrence, Buchanan, Bjorn, Charles; Leuploz, Cuthbert; Kaneryd, James, Reiten; Fishel.

Man Utd confirmed lineup vs Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Earps; Riviere, Le Tissier, Turner, Blundell; Ladd, Zelem; Garcia, Toone, Galton; Geyse.

It would undoubtedly be more entertaining for the WSL title race as a whole if Manchester United were able to rock up at Stamford Bridge and get all three points. It would tighten things up at the very top and bring Skinner’s side right back into the equation.

That isn’t always how football works. Chelsea were the only team to beat United last season and they did it three times (two in the league, one in the FA Cup final). In fact, the Red Devils have still never beaten Sunday’s opponents in any meeting to date – the only domestic opponent since reforming in 2018 for whom that is true. As such, the Blues are the favourites to get all three points here.
