FPL managers face a tough captaincy choice in Gameweek 29 with just four fixtures in the schedule and no Erling Haaland or Bukayo Saka to choose from.

So who should we be considering for the armband? In conjunction with Fantasy Football Hub’s powerful AI Points Predictions tool, here are the best captaincy choices this weekend.

Heung-Min Son

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min has the perfect balance of form and fixtures, making him the top captain pick for the blank gameweek. The South Korean has played centrally in recent games, with two goals and three assists since returning from the Asian Cup.

Spurs are in a fine run of form, winning three of their last four games and scoring ten goals in this period. Son was the star player in the 2-0 win in the reverse fixture, notching a 14-point haul.

Ivan Toney

Brentford’s plum fixture away at Burnley could prove pivotal in the battle to avoid relegation, with their opponents without a clean sheet in 2024. Ivan Toney has been in good form since returning from his ban, managing four goals and one assist from nine appearances.

It has been concerning to see Toney fail to register an attacking return over the course of his last four Premier League games, but with penalties in his locker and seven shots over the last four gameweeks, those points are coming.

Ollie Watkins

Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins has been the most consistent player in the Premier League this season, with 31 attacking returns in 28 appearances seeing him ascend the rankings as the top FPL asset so far in 2023/24.

Watkins has five goals and one assist in his last four games alone. He produced a double digit haul against West Ham in the 4-1 win in the reverse fixture, where he chalked up a goal, an assist and two bonus points.

He did hobble off with an injury scare in the Europa Conference League on Thursday, but Villa are hopeful the England international will recover in time to feature.
