On November 26, 2025, a significant recall was announced for over 200,000 Ozark Trail Tabletop camping stoves following reports of explosions that resulted in injuries to 16 individuals. These stoves were sold at Walmart, both in physical stores and online, spanning from March 2023 to October 2025.

WASHINGTON — A recall has affected more than 200,000 Ozark Trail Tabletop camping stoves due to 26 incidents of explosions, leading to injuries for 16 users. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission identified these stoves under the model number BG2247A1.

The recall, issued on November 26, 2025, involves nearly 201,000 units sold at Walmart locations and online from March 2023 through October 2025. The stoves were available at prices ranging from $8 to $45.

These camping stoves are characterized by their dark green color and feature an orange “Ozark Trail” logo prominently displayed on the front. The model number can be found inside the fuel compartment, as noted in the recall details.

The recall was prompted by reports of injuries, including second-degree burns, with 26 incidents of the stoves either exploding or igniting. The underlying cause of these malfunctions remains unclear.

The recall came after at least 16 people reported injuries like second degree burns and a total of 26 reports came in about the stoves exploding or catching fire. It’s unclear what caused the issue.

The CPSC urged people to stop using the stove immediately and take it into Walmart for a refund.

Though the recall was issued in November, the CSPC said there are “usually no end date to a product recall.”
