In the world of high-tech gadgets, folding OLED displays have primarily graced the realm of luxury smartphones and laptops. However, One-Netbook is set to change the game by introducing this cutting-edge technology to a new handheld gaming device. Enter the OneXSugar Wallet, a device reminiscent of the company’s earlier release, the folding OneXSugar Sugar 1 handheld. Unlike its predecessor, which boasted dual screens, the Wallet unfolds to reveal a singular expansive 8.01-inch OLED screen, maintaining a 4:3 aspect ratio, as highlighted by Retro Handhelds.

Unveiled recently on China’s Weibo platform, the OneXSugar Wallet’s announcement was shrouded in mystery, offering scarce details on its technical prowess. The folding OLED screen promises a crisp resolution of 2480 x 1860 pixels. Powering this device is an undisclosed “Qualcomm gaming platform flagship processor,” though specifics on its performance metrics and emulation capabilities remain under wraps.

Visuals shared by One-Netbook showcase a device equipped with a familiar array of gaming controls. Asymmetrical thumbsticks, four action buttons, and a D-pad are positioned on either side of the lower half of the display. Additionally, shoulder buttons and triggers adorn the back, while a duo of front-facing speakers are strategically placed alongside the top of the screen. The pressing question is the price tag of this innovative gadget. With existing handheld consoles already hitting the $1,000 mark and folding screen devices like the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 inching towards $2,000, will the OneXSugar Wallet find its audience if its cost mirrors these figures? Perhaps its name, “Wallet,” hints at the financial commitment prospective buyers should anticipate.
