Microsoft is preparing to roll several of its artificial intelligence tools into a single Copilot “super app,” bringing together chat, software development features, and more autonomous AI agent functions. Speaking during the company’s earnings call on Wednesday, CEO Satya Nadella said the upcoming app is designed to serve both everyday users and business customers when it arrives later this year.
Nadella described Copilot as moving quickly beyond a basic AI chatbot into broader workplace and automation tools, including what Microsoft calls Cowork and Autopilots. He said the company is now unifying those Copilot experiences, including coding capabilities, inside one larger app, calling it a significant next step and teasing that more details will be shared soon.
The update follows an earlier Fortune report that Microsoft had been developing an all-in-one AI app combining the Copilot chatbot, GitHub Copilot, Copilot Cowork, and its agent-based Autopilot technology. Microsoft is not alone in pushing toward bundled AI productivity platforms: OpenAI recently introduced ChatGPT Work, a new app that brings together ChatGPT and its AI coding assistant, Codex.
