Nvidia is set to launch its DGX Spark, a “personal AI supercomputer,” which combines advanced AI capabilities with a compact design suitable for desktop use. This innovative device will be available for purchase this week.
Nvidia announced that the Spark can be ordered on their website, nvidia.com, starting Wednesday, October 15th, and through select partners and retailers across the US. Initially priced at $3,000 as reported earlier in the year, the DGX Spark’s current price is confirmed at $3,999, according to details in Nvidia’s press release. Various PC manufacturers, such as Acer with their Veriton GN100 model, are offering similarly priced versions.
The Spark delivers performance levels previously only accessible in costly, large data centers, potentially expanding AI accessibility. This tool is expected to be especially beneficial for researchers. When the technology was first introduced, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang highlighted its potential to provide every data scientist, AI researcher, and student with direct AI supercomputer access, promoting broader engagement in the AI era.
A range of similar models will soon be available, as Nvidia has allowed other manufacturers to produce their versions. Companies like Acer, Asus, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, and MSI are all launching their custom Spark models, as confirmed by Nvidia today.
The Spark features Nvidia’s GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, 128GB of unified memory, and up to 4TB of NVMe SSD storage. Nvidia claims it can achieve a petaflop of AI performance, equivalent to a quadrillion calculations per second, and supports AI models with up to 200 billion parameters. Its compact size allows it to fit on a desk and it operates on a standard power outlet, earning it the title of “the world’s smallest AI supercomputer” from Nvidia.
Correction, October 13th: A previous version of this article inaccurately stated that the DGX Spark was “now available to buy.” It will actually become available for purchase on October 15th.
