The Steam Controller’s reservation queue is open

Following a rapid sell-out of the Steam Controller on May 4th, Valve has introduced a reservation system to simplify the purchasing process. While the wait might be longer than you’d prefer, reserving the $99 controller is now a straightforward task.

To participate, ensure your Steam account is in good standing and has at least one purchase made before April 27th of this year. This reservation acts as a placeholder, securing your spot for upcoming restocks. Once a controller becomes available for you, an email notification will be sent, allowing you 72 hours to complete your purchase before it’s offered to the next person on the list.

Valve had initially informed The Verge that they prepared a significant supply for the launch but were uncertain about the exact level of demand. It turns out, the demand surpassed their estimations. Fortunately, with the new system, you can now reserve your spot in line instead of anxiously waiting for a chance to snag a controller during restocks.
