Samsung’s 55-inch Frame art TV is $200 cheaper than usual

Samsung’s The Frame isn’t built to fade into the background like a standard 4K TV. Its real charm shows up when you’re not watching anything at all: the screen can showcase artwork, giving a living room the feel of a small gallery. With customizable-looking bezels that mimic a traditional picture frame and a matte display designed to reduce glare, The Frame can make digital art look more like a real painting than what you’d see on a typical glossy television.

Right now, Amazon is offering the 55-inch Samsung Frame for $697.99, which is roughly $200 off its usual price. The discount applies to the 2025 Samsung Frame model, a 4K QLED TV that includes a 144Hz refresh rate with variable refresh rate support, plus HDR10 Plus for compatible movies, shows, and games.

To keep the setup looking clean, The Frame uses a single cable that runs to the included One Connect box, where most of the ports live. That box includes four HDMI inputs — two capable of 4K at 60Hz, one with eARC for connecting a soundbar, and one that supports 4K at 144Hz for gaming — along with two USB-A ports, a coaxial connection for an HD antenna, Ethernet, and optical audio.

That said, The Frame makes some trade-offs common among art TVs. Compared with other TVs in a similar price range, it can fall behind in areas like peak brightness, overall picture quality, color accuracy, and black levels — factors that can affect how movies, streaming shows, and video games appear. Still, for shoppers who want a television that doubles as home decor instead of taking over the room, Samsung’s Frame may strike the right balance between big-screen entertainment and wall-mounted artwork.
