WASHINGTON – The US has successfully coordinated a “full and immediate ceasefire” between Pakistan and India, President Trump stated on Saturday. This development is anticipated to put an end to the recent outbreak of violence in the Kashmir region.
“Following a lengthy night of discussions facilitated by the United States, I am delighted to announce that India and Pakistan have consented to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE,” Trump posted on Truth Social in the morning.
“Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Tensions between the two countries had escalated in recent days, sending missiles and drones into areas not hit in decades.
Trump’s announcement comes after Vice President JD Vance said Thursday that the US does not want to get involved in the conflict.
“Our role is to try and encourage these parties to de-escalate somewhat, but we’re not going to get directly involved in a conflict that essentially does not concern us directly and has no bearing on America’s capacity to influence it,” Vance remarked on Fox News.
