Despite his poor performance and becoming the subject of “jazz hand” jokes, Walz experienced a moment of national attention that seems to have left him seeking more. With the Democrats lacking positive campaign points, he has turned to a familiar refrain: “Republicans are Nazis.” Regardless of facts, such as not having invaded Poland or participating in atrocities, the narrative implies they are followers of “der Führer.”
During the University of Minnesota’s law school commencement, Walz made a controversial comparison between U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents—who are addressing the illegal immigration issues left by the Biden-Harris administration—and the Gestapo.
No really.

Here’s his “hot take”:
“Let me highlight the alarming situation — Donald Trump’s equivalent of today’s Gestapo is capturing individuals from the streets. They’re using unmarked vehicles, wearing masks, and sending people to overseas detention centers,” Walz remarked. “There’s no opportunity for legal defense or even a farewell to family. They’re taken by masked operatives, loaded into vans, and vanish without a trace.”
Did the man many call “Tampon Tim” ever even open a history book? This was the Gestapo:
Gestapo, the political police of Nazi Germany. The Gestapo ruthlessly eliminated opposition to the Nazis within Germany and its occupied territories and, in partnership with the Sicherheitsdienst (SD; “Security Service”), was responsible for the roundup of Jews throughout Europe for deportation to extermination camps.
Am I missing something, or is this happening under the Trump administration?
Thousands of leftists, intellectuals, Jews, trade unionists, political clergy, and homosexuals simply disappeared into concentration camps after being arrested by the Gestapo. The political section could order prisoners to be murdered, tortured, or released.
Needless to say, the Gopher State governor was quickly nuked for his imbecilic take. The man you don’t want to mess with, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, quickly responded:
This vile anti-American language can only be construed as inciting insurrection and violence. https://t.co/iUTRY11Qrf

The Department of Homeland Security, under the direction of Secretary Kristi Noem, also weighed in:
It is absolutely sickening to compare ICE law enforcement agents to the Gestapo.
Attacks and demonization of ICE and our partners is wrong. ICE officers are now facing a 413% increase in assaults.

Our message is clear: DO NOT come to this country illegally. If you do, we will arrest you, deport you and you will never return.
The Democrats’ endless comparison of Trump administration officials and the president himself to Nazis long ago grew tiresome, and the voting public has generally tuned out such bile, but it can’t be forgotten how despicable and dangerous this kind of rhetoric is. Hitler’s Third Reich and the Holocaust almost destroyed the world as we know it, and mankind with it, and lowly C-list politicians like Tim Walz are trying to make gravy out of such a historic tragedy.
May a higher power—say, God—be your savior, Tim Walz, because what you’re spewing is toxic stuff indeed.
