JSO: Woman shot multiple times inside Jacksonville Southside apartment

The victim was shot at least five times, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman is currently hospitalized after her husband shot her several times inside an apartment complex in the Southside area on Sunday afternoon, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities stated that at approximately 2:30 p.m., they were called to an apartment complex in the 7700 block of Southside Boulevard in response to reports of a woman being shot.

A woman was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to a local hospital in what police described as “critical but stable condition.”

The preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the victim was involved in a domestic altercation with her husband, who then fired several shots, hitting her at least five times. Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the argument.

Officers detained the suspect at the scene. Detectives canvassed the scene for surveillance video and spoke with witnesses. Investigators said this was an isolated incident.

Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to contact JSO at 904-630-0500, by email jsocrimetips@jaxsheriff.org or via CrimeStoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
