Authorities suspect the incident took place on a party boat, and investigators were later spotted on the vessel, according to The Myrtle Beach Sun News.

Cops confirmed the violence broke out near a marina, but it’s not clear what led up to the shooting.

Eleven people have been taken to the hospital, according to cops.

The shooting happened at around 10pm local time and locals initially didn’t think gunshots were being fired.

One thought that the sound was fireworks.

“I’ve never seen nothing like this,” local Charleen Rodgers told the outlet.

Cops revealed their probe is “ongoing and active.”

Police have not yet identified a motive, nor have they made any arrests.

Cops are also probing theories that there may be multiple shooters.

Officials at the Gun Violence Archive define a mass shooting as an incident where a minimum of four people have been injured or killed.

So far, there have been more than 110 mass shootings reported across the US, according to the organization.

The Memorial Day weekend has seen violence erupt in Jackson, Tennessee, and in Colorado Springs.

Seven people were injured in a shooting in Jackson on May 24.

The shooting broke out at a park and youngsters were involved, according to police.

On the same day, six people were injured as a result of gun violence in Colorado Springs.

The shooting happened just hours after 12 people were taken to the hospital following a stampede at a motorbike rally in Myrtle Beach.

Cops revealed that brawls broke out, which caused revelers to panic.

One witness, Hilton Dewitt, claimed that an argument may have broke out, which caused crowds to flock toward the stage.
