RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — The Central Maroons aim for redemption in Saturday’s regional final in Rantoul against Mahomet-Seymour, with the game beginning at noon.
The Maroons lost in the regional final last season.
Central enters this game 24-3 on the season and the top seed in the Rantoul regional.
Standout sophomores on this team like Grace Bandy and Hailey Helm have their sights set on earning this senior class some postseason hardware.
“I’m really excited,” Bandy shared. “I believe we have the chance to go really far, especially with these players. I’m incredibly proud of our progress, and I hope we continue to push further this season.”
“Watching them receive that plaque [last season] was tough for us. It made us eager to win the regional championship, and that’s our main objective,” Helm explained.
