Rihanna certainly knows how to make an impact.
Though she appeared at the MTV VMAs in an understated pair of jeans and a T-shirt, she later transformed into the fashion icon known for her style and stunned in a low-cut LBD at the after party.
The queen of grand entrances gracefully made her way through PH-D Rooftop Lounge in lower Manhattan, donning the figure-hugging outfit paired with black strappy heels on Sunday night.
That’s more like it: Rihanna put in the effort for the VMA after party, opting for a little black dress after choosing just jeans and a T-shirt for the actual VMA awards.
Ri-Ri accompanied the ensemble with exactly the same pieces of jewellery she wore to the VMAs, a diamond choker, bracelet, earrings and slim silver chain, but slipped on the glitter-infused black dress for instant glamour.
The 25-year-old wore her cropped raven locks with her fringe slicked over to the side, whilst wearing a mini gold crucifix between her front teeth.
Her make-up was perfectly applied, a matte red lipstick, smoky eyes and a face shimmer which accentuated her flawless skin.

Rihanna took her beverage ‘to go’ as she was seen leaving the club in the early hours of Monday morning.
Her former flame, rapper Drake was also spotted leaving the VMA after party minutes apart from each other, and covered his face as he ran out of the venue.
The star must of had a eventful night of partying as she also attended the official VMA after party venue, at the Pink Elephant Club and tweeted: ‘It’s not a Sunday in #NYC without #PinkELEPHANT and my crew!!! #VMAafterparty with my main heaux @leleboo_phucku Tonight 2night TUH-NIGHT!!!’

The party including all of music’s biggest names who were celebrating their success, and even pop’s most famous couple, Beyonce and Jay Z turned up to the swanky occasion.
The couple smiled they were seen leaving PH-D Rooftop in NYC for the star-studded VMA after party.
Later in the evening the pair were also seen leaving left Dream Downtown Hotel in New York following the celebratory night of music.

At the MTV VMAs stars like Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift dressed-up to the max, but Rihanna was the exception.
The Unapologetic singer skipped the glitzy red carpet and headed straight to her seat next to gal pal Melissa Forde for the prestigious event.
Ri-Ri wore sported a jet black mullet hairstyle with a cut-off shirt featuring MC Lyte’s face and the lyrics ‘Gotta Get A Ruff Neck’.

To complete her look she wore dark blue cuffed jeans with some black strappy heels but it was her mouth accessory that really stood-out.
The 25-year-old had a crucifix strategically put between her front teeth on a night when various mouth grills were all the rage.
During the event The Barbados-born beauty did not really seem to get into the proceedings and noticeably scowled when former boyfriend Drake took to the stage although there was no sign of Chris Brown.

The singer was seen chatting to Will Smith and his son Jayden while she sat directly in front of One Direction on pop’s big night.
She even posed next to British boyband star Harry Styles for a photograph at one point.
But there was no sweeping statement from the superstar like her white angelic look from last year’s event.
