IRAN has launched fresh waves of missiles into Israel injuring at least 23 people just hours after the US blitzed its key nuclear sites.

Tehran, reeling from the unprecedented airstrikes, has warned of “everlasting consequences” in retaliation to US involvement.

Two waves of around 20 and 10 missiles were fired at targets across Israel, according to the IDF.

The weapons penetrated air defences and caused damage in four civilian locations, including Tel Aviv.

Thirteen people were wounded in the Tel Aviv area, six in Nes Tziona, three in Haifa, and one on a highway near Beer Yaakov.

The person injured on the road was in “moderate” condition, whilst the other victims were all “lightly” wounded.

Sirens failed to sound in Haifa, and the IDF said it was investigating a possible malfunction with the “interceptor”.

Iranian state media claimed that a Khyber missile was deployed for the first time in the conflict.

The Mehr news agency announced a new offensive, stating: “The Iranian armed forces have launched their twentieth series of extensive missile-drone operations targeting the Zionist regime’s military sites.”

In the Ramat Aviv area of Tel Aviv, holes were ripped into the fronts of apartment buildings and houses burned out.

Tel Aviv mayor Ron Huldai said: “Houses here were hit very, very badly.

“Fortunately, one of them was slated for demolition and reconstruction, so there were no residents inside.

“Those who were in the shelter are all safe and well. The damage is very, very extensive, but in terms of human life, we are okay.”

Israeli police noted “the descent of weapon fragments” near the northern port city of Haifa, with local officials confirming that emergency services were dispatched to an “incident location.”

At least 50 Iranian missiles are thought to have struck down in Israel during the ten days of conflict.

According to the latest data from the Israeli military, over 450 have been successfully intercepted by Israel’s advanced air defense systems, alongside nearly 1,000 drones.
