Watch: NATO Presser Falls Silent During Touching Moment Between Trump and Foreign Reporter

The incident took place at a NATO leaders’ summit held in The Hague, Netherlands, where Trump addressed questions from foreign journalists. Topics ranged from the recent successful attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites to a query from a BBC reporter about whether the US planned to “sell anti-aircraft missile systems” to Ukraine amid its conflict with Russia.

“Are you yourself living now in Ukraine?” Trump inquired.

“My husband is there,” the reporter replied, noting that she and her kids were currently living in Warsaw because her husband wanted them there.

“Wow,” the president replied. “I can see you’re very, you know, it’s amazing…”

The expression on Trump’s face said it all as he shook his head and looked very sad and worried for the reporter and her children.

When the president pressed if her husband was a soldier, the reporter’s response was unclear.

“He’s there now,” Trump asked again, to which the BBC reporter answered, “Yes.”

“Wow, that’s rough stuff, right?” he added. “That’s tough. And you are living here? And you are a reporter.”

It was evident that President Trump’s remarks were affecting her, as she seemed to restrain her emotions to maintain her professionalism.

Trump then praised the reporter for her “good question” and said that the US is “going to see if we can make some available.”

The BBC reporter appeared to mouth “Thank you” to the president before the press conference resumed with a flurry of questions from the media.

Our sister site Townhall’s Katie Pavlich wrote on X,” This was quite the moment, full of emotion, and the room was silent.”

RedState reported earlier this month that Russia retaliated against Ukraine in a massive aerial assault on Kyiv following the war-torn country’s unprecedented “Operation Spiderweb” attack that hit 41 Russian strategic bombers across multiple airfields deep inside Russian territory.

During the same NATO presser, Trump called out the Fake News for downplaying the bravery of the pilots in the airstrikes to take out Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

“The pilots did an unbelievable job like nobody’s ever seen. They hit paydirt,” the president told the press. “They should be admired and respected for what they did. And the Fake News, in order to try to hit me, the Fake News made them look bad. But now they look really good again.”
