We’re finding out lots of new details about season two of “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.”
David Henrie reprises his role as Justin Russo, while Janice LeAnn Brown returns as Billie, joined by Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo and Max Matenko as Milo Russo. Taylor Cora also comes back as Winter and Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo.
The official synopsis reveals that “Billie discovers that being a member of the Russo family is more challenging than she anticipated, especially now that there are additional wizards in the household. With Roman and Milo developing new magical abilities, Justin now has the responsibility of training three young wizards for the Family Wizard Competition. Amid rising tensions within and beyond the family, a mysterious threat begins to surface that could potentially tear the Russos apart permanently.”
Executive producer Selena Gomez will make guest appearances in several episodes, just like in the first season. Joining her are “ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires” star Freya Skye (Piper), “What We Do in the Shadows” Harvey Guillén (Gossip Stone), Kirsten Vangsness (Bigelow McFigglehorn), Recker Eans (Quentin), Tobias Jelinek (Lord Morsus), Patrick Bristow (Wiz M.D.), and Eleanor Sweeney (Bella Bianchi).
Additionally, fans can expect to see familiar faces from “Wizards of Waverly Place” making cameo appearances. Bill Chott reprises his role as Mr. Laritate, Sean Whalen returns as Mantooth, and Amanda Tepe, known for her various roles in the original series, makes a guest appearance in a holiday-themed episode.
In a preview of the upcoming season (available in the video player above), Roman questions, “Are you ready for what comes next?” To which Milo confidently replies, “A Russo is always ready.”
Season two of “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” premieres September 12 on Disney Channel and October 8 on Disney+.
