Fortunately, the 54-year-old Oscar winner was saved by a companion who helped him maintain his balance, narrowly preventing him from plunging fully dressed into the Mediterranean Sea.
During this close call, Liam Hemsworth, 35, smiled from the dock as the Good Will Hunting actor scrambled back into the boat safely.
The Lonely Planet star looked buff in a white tank top, which showcased his muscular arms, and a pair of black shorts.
Damon was dressed in a black golf shirt and a pair tan khakis for his outing at Casa Jondal.
The Instigators star and his celebrity friends were marking Chris’ 42nd birthday and had an abundance of drinks to keep the celebrations going.

Among the party goers were Chris’s supermodel wife Elsa Pataky, along with Rita Ora and her husband Taika Waititi.
Waititi raised eyebrows with his seemingly tone-deaf t-shirt, which read: ‘Working class hero.’
At the same time, Ora, 34, showed off her figure in a plum-colored bikini top, paired with semi-sheer white and gold leggings, and a leather belt around her waist.
Her reddish brown locks were styled in loose waves and she accessorized with a turquoise pendant on a long silver chain and thick hoop earrings.
Damon’s wife, Luciana Barroso, 49, flaunted her toned tummy in a black bikini top with a pair of low waist white linen pants.
Her long, dark locks were styled straight, and she wore a white Panama hat to protect her face from the sun’s strong rays.
Last month, for Pataky’s 43rd birthday, they partied on a yacht in Ibiza, Spain too.
The two actors and their families share a close friendship, with Damon and Barroso regularly visiting the Hemsworths in Byron Bay, a popular tourist town on the Australian east coast.

However, the actor’s representative later denied this, telling the Associated Press: ‘He’s not moving out of the U.S.’
