SMUG pictures of a former postal worker showing off stacks of cash and lavish trips have emerged after she was caught stealing.

Mary Ann Magdamit, aged 31, confessed to misappropriating credit cards, debit cards, and checks during her employment to support her lifestyle, which featured tropical vacations and Rolex watches she showcased online.

Magdamit pleaded guilty to the fraud on Monday after she was first arrested on July 1.

Her sick scheme lasted three years as she worked at the Torrance Main Post Office in southwestern Los Angeles County, California.

The ex-mail carrier stole mail containing checks, debit and credit cards, and personal information while at the post office from 2022 until July 2025, according to the US Attorney’s Office.

She would activate the cards and cash the checks online and then use them to make massive purchases.

On Instagram, Magdamit brazenly displayed the stolen money in disturbing images, where she posed with stacks of hundred-dollar bills beside her face.

She shared pictures of piles of money sitting in her lap while sitting in the driver’s seat of her car.

One snap shared on her Instagram story showed a tall stack of bills that was captioned, “You ever been hurting while grinding??”

Magdamit was not discreet in displaying the lavish items she purchased with the money illicitly taken from unwitting USPS customers, including a Rolex watch and luxury products from Louis Vuitton and Dior.

The mail thief also posted pictures from extravagant trips to Turks and Caicos, Hawaii, and Aruba, where she used stolen cards during her overseas travels.

One photo showed her lounging by a pool with a glass of champagne as she wrote, “Life is goood.”

Magdamit, who is from the Philippines, also sold stolen cards to other people who allegedly helped her cash stolen checks by making fake IDs.

“Federally insured banks and credit unions were victimized in this scheme,” the Justice Department said.

None of Magdamit’s alleged co-conspirators has been arrested, the Department of Justice said.

Police caught on to the plot and searched Magdamit’s apartment in December 2024.

Items found at Mary Ann Magdamit’s house

On December 4, 2024, police searched now-convicted mail thief Mary Ann Magdamit’s apartment and found the following:

  • 133 credit and debit cards not in Magdamit’s name
  • 18 gift cards
  • $5,927 in cash
  • 16 US Department of Treasury checks not addressed to Magdamit
  • 4 business checks not addressed to Magdamit
  • 3 money order receipts
  • Miscellaneous mail and bank letters
  • One loaded, unserialized P80 Glock-clone with an extended 27-round magazine and ammunition, known as a ghost gun
  • Over 20 luxury designer items worth $21,000 in total

Cops seized 133 stolen credit and debit cards as well as 16 US Department of Treasury checks from her home.

They also found a loaded ghost gun.

In spite of the incriminating evidence, Magdamit wasn’t apprehended until July, when the federal authorities discovered she was continuing to make purchases using the stolen cards of the victims, as reported by the DOJ.

They raided her apartment again and found more stolen cards.

She’s been in federal custody since then. The Torrance Police Department didn’t immediately return The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.

On Monday, Magdamit pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud.

Her sentencing hearing is set for October 27. She faces up to 30 years in federal prison.
