Alabama Law Enforcement Agency investigating shooting involving officers with Tallassee Police Department

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation is examining a shooting involving officers from the Tallassee Police Department in Tallapoosa County, Ala.

ALEA reports that Tallassee Police officers responded to a domestic violence report on Notasulga Road, around 3:05 p.m. on Friday. During the incident, Adam Davis, 38, reportedly fired a gun, prompting officers to shoot at him. Davis was subsequently taken to a hospital for medical care.

ALEA says that no officers were injured in the incident.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has issued Davis a federal hold for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Additionally, he faces pending domestic violence charges.

This investigation is still active, and further details are currently unavailable. Once the investigation concludes, the findings will be submitted to the Office of the District Attorney, Fifth Judicial Circuit.
