A female passenger launched a shocking attack on a cabin crew member in a mid-flight rampage after she was denied the use of a phone.

A 39-year-old woman with red hair was en route from Novosibirsk, the largest city in Siberia, to Moscow on a Saturday morning, when she launched a vicious attack following a dispute with a flight attendant on the Boeing 737 aircraft.

Disturbing video footage captures her fiercely arguing with the airline staff before striking one of them at least five times, until passengers and crew stepped in.

The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, allegedly became aggressive and alarmed other passengers by demanding to use a phone just seven minutes after the flight’s departure.

The cabin crew tried to calm her down and handed her the rules of conduct on board.

But she crumpled up the document and hurled it at one stewardess’s face.

The woman, who sat in seat 10A, then demanded a phone from staff before attacking the senior flight attendant.

In another clip, a male passenger wearing a white t-shirt swiftly steps in to separate her from the flight attendant after witnessing the assault.

The woman can then be seen walking away while wailing and shouting.

For the rest of the journey, she was restrained until a swift response team met the plane and escorted her off at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport.

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the incident and said a protocol had been drawn up against her for petty hooliganism.

Police are continuing to investigate.

This incident occurred just weeks following another case where a family confronted a passenger who had complained about a child repeatedly kicking her seat over the course of a three-hour-and-47-minute flight.

Chaos erupted when the China Southern Airlines flight CZ6164 landed as a family reportedly surrounded the woman and physically confronted her, insisting she should have more empathy because ‘he’s only a child.’

The incident, which took place on August 7 after the flight from Shenzhen to Dalian, is now under investigation by the Dalian Airport Public Security Bureau.

Passengers reported that the boy, seated directly behind the woman, repeatedly kicked her seat during the flight. Despite multiple warnings, he persisted.
