Bensenville raid: US Marshals, federal authorities seen conducting warehouse raid in Chicago suburbs

The Department of Justice made an unexpected appearance at a warehouse in Bensenville, Ill., on Wednesday, prompting unease among locals. The surprise raid by federal agents has resulted in growing concerns within the community.

It was an early morning raid. It is not an ICE raid and it has nothing to do with Operation Midway Blitz.

The federal agents seen on the property were all wearing U.S. Marshals’ vests.

An armored vehicle was also on the scene. ABC7 Chicago crews detected no sense of urgency among the federal authorities who were also there.

Midwest Distribution, which is also known online as Midwest Goods, is identified as a business-to-business wholesale distributor dealing in vape and electronic-cigarette products, alongside smoke shop, headshop, and dispensary supplies. Their website showcases 24 distinct brands for their offerings. The company is officially listed as a domestic/foreign corporation with the Illinois Secretary of State.

This raid comes amid a period when Chicago has been heavily scrutinized by the Trump administration over the past three weeks, sparking a strong interest from community members who flocked to the scene to learn more about the unfolding events.

There was no official comment yet from the DOJ, but ABC7 is expecting there will be a briefing soon.

ABC7 reached out to various company representatives and have not yet gotten a response.
