() An armed man who claimed to be law enforcement was arrested at State Farm Stadium on Friday, according to the U.S. Secret Service.

The arrest occurred merely two days before the scheduled memorial service for conservative activist Charlie Kirk at the stadium on September 21. Anticipating substantial security needs, federal authorities are diligently monitoring any potential threats to the event.

The Secret Service reported that the individual had both a knife and a gun and was behaving in a “suspicious manner.” Both the Secret Service and local law enforcement are actively investigating his presence at the scene.

The Department of Homeland Security has assigned Sunday’s event a Level 1 Special Event Assessment Rating (SEAR), its highest classification, which grants the federal government extensive authority to manage security around the venue. Such a designation is reserved for significant events like the presidential inauguration and the Super Bowl.

The man, who has not been identified, has been charged by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
