44,000 NordicTrack rowing machines recalled after reports of fires

A widespread recall has been announced for tens of thousands of NordicTrack rowing machines due to a potential fire hazard.

WASHINGTON — Over 44,000 NordicTrack rowing machines are being recalled following concerns that they may pose a fire risk. This recall, issued on October 16, 2025, targets certain iFIT NordicTrack rowing machines produced between 2018 and 2022.

The recall notice warns that the screen console on these rowing machines can overheat and catch fire. There have been eight incidents reported, including two cases of fire and six where the machines emitted smoke or melted. These incidents have resulted in property damage amounting to at least $6,000, although fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

The recall specifically involves models NTRW19147.0, NTRW19147.1, NTRW19147.2, and NTRW19147.3. These models come in black, gray, and white, with “NordicTrack” prominently displayed on the front legs and “RW900” on the back legs. The model number can be found on a decal attached to the base of the rower.

The affected machines were sold both in physical stores and online through retailers such as Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nebraska Furniture Mart, and ABT, as well as on nordictrack.com and Amazon.com. These sales took place between November 2018 and April 2022, with each unit priced around $1,700.

The affected rowing machines were sold both in-store and online at Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nebraska Furniture and ABT stores nationwide, as well as on nordictrack.com and Amazon.com from Nov. 2018 through April 2022 for approximately $1,700.

Consumers should immediately stop using and unplug the recalled rowing machines. Contact NordicTrack to arrange for a free home repair by an authorized technician, who will replace the screen console. Claims can either be made online or by calling 833-680-4348.

In an F.A.Q. posted online, NordicTrack said the console replacement must be done by one of their trained technicians to ensure it’s done correctly, so self-replacement is not permitted in this case.

Consumers with questions can call NordicTrack at 833-680-4348 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. MT, Monday through Friday or email the company at ntrw19147-recall@ifit.com.
