In a somber turn of events in Chicago’s Little Village, Cook County Crime Stoppers are extending a $10,000 cash reward to encourage information following a tragic incident at a local jewelry store. Two men lost their lives after a violent robbery unfolded this past Saturday evening.

According to the Chicago police, the violent episode transpired at around 5:49 p.m. along the 3800 block of 26th Street. An armed individual entered the jewelry store, executing a robbery that quickly escalated into a deadly confrontation.

The suspect, after seizing property from the store, became embroiled in a conflict with two men aged 63 and 25. In the ensuing chaos, the assailant opened fire on the victims multiple times before making a swift escape. The suspect was last seen fleeing south on Springfield Avenue in a white SUV, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Both victims were rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital under critical conditions. Tragically, despite medical efforts, both men succumbed to their injuries. Authorities have yet to disclose their identities.

In light of this double homicide, Cook County Crime Stoppers announced on Sunday that they are offering up to $10,000 for any information that could lead to the capture of the perpetrator. The community remains on edge as law enforcement continues to pursue leads in this harrowing case.

A man in a Blackhawks hoodie and mask can be seen walking up to the jewelry store right around 5:45 p.m., just before the robbery and shooting.

Within about 30 seconds, the suspect runs outside with some merchandise from the store as two men chase after him. The altercation continued in the middle of the street near oncoming traffic, and then right near the corner of Springfield. The offender could be seen pulling out his gun and shooting both victims.

Police say no one else was hurt by those gunshots that were fired off in the middle of the street.

No arrests have been made as Chicago police continue to investigate.
