The young victim was reportedly attacked by two individuals and sustained a stab wound to his leg. Despite the swift response of paramedics and the arrival of a rescue helicopter, the boy succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities believe that neither the victim nor the attackers were students at the nearby school. Witnesses reported seeing two teenage boys fleeing the scene immediately following the attack.

One of the assailants is thought to have been dressed in a school uniform, though their identities remain unknown as they have yet to be apprehended.

In the wake of this distressing event, police have cordoned off the area and are canvassing local residences, seeking any witnesses who may provide crucial information to aid in their investigation.

Police have shut down the area and are doorknocking on nearby houses to see if anyone witnessed the incident.

Member for Greenway Michelle Rowland said she was “deeply saddened” by the killing, and expressed her condolences for the boy’s family.

“Deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of a young life in Rouse Hill this afternoon,” she said in a statement on social media.

“My thoughts and deepest condolences are with the young boy’s family during this extremely difficult time.

“There is no place in our community for these acts of senseless violence, and I know this news will be particularly distressing for local families.”
