Iranian officials mocked President Trump over Republicans’ midterm defeats and warned that Tehran would unveil “new weapons” if he decided to restart the war.
“Conscience or the cost of living, Americans said NO TO WAR, and we endorse this message,” Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf wrote triumphantly on X, cautioning Trump against resuming the conflict.
“If the US govt betrays their public will to serve international paymasters and blackmailers, it will learn our NO comes with a Nightmare,” the chief Iranian negotiator added.
Hamidreza Moghadamfar, an adviser to the commander-in-chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), issued a similar warning, saying Tehran was prepared to respond if Trump followed through on his pledge to renew airstrikes after the midterms.
“If the United States or the Zionists take action, Iran will respond with a new doctrine and new weapons, delivering responses that differ from those of the past,” he said.
Iran’s still-missing Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei released his latest written statement after the midterms, declaring that America’s days were numbered.
“The process of the US’s collapse has accelerated,” he said.
He again referred to the United States as the “Great Satan” and vowed that Iran would never surrender.
Iranian broadcasters echoed the officials’ warnings, ridiculing the president over the countrywide losses while claiming he had failed to secure a clear victory in the war.

Before the US elections, Iranian officials issued an open letter urging American voters to reject Trump and the war. Reports also emerged that Tehran was attempting to use the conflict and elevated gas prices to damage Republicans’ chances.
Senior Iranian officials also confirmed that Tehran was intentionally prolonging negotiations to weaken Trump’s position in peace talks, Reuters reported.
Despite the celebrations in Iran, officials remain concerned that Trump could respond to the midterm results by accelerating plans for a strike against the country.
Trump has said he would let diplomacy run its course and would attack only if he concluded that Iran was not serious about peace negotiations.
