Travis Turner, the head coach of Union High School’s football team in Virginia, has been reported missing, overshadowing what was anticipated to be a victorious and undefeated season.
The Virginia State Police have classified Turner, aged 46, as a missing person, with his last known sighting occurring on Thursday.
At the time, he was dressed in a gray sweatshirt, matching sweatpants, and wore glasses.

According to WCYB-TV, state troopers visited Turner’s home near Appalachia, Virginia, on Thursday evening to address a non-criminal matter, only to find him absent.
In a Facebook post that has since been removed, Turner’s wife, Leslie, mentioned, “He is missing, and that’s all we know.”
Search efforts involving K-9 units, drones and ground crews have since been underway across Wise County.

Turner’s disappearance has stunned the community and the Union High School Bears, who entered the postseason with an 11-0 record.
He has been the head football coach at the public high school in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, since 2011.

No additional details about the circumstances of his disappearance or the nature of the initial complaint have been released. Officials have not indicated whether foul play is suspected.
