ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A tragic incident unfolded late Saturday night as a 29-year-old man from Orlando lost his life after being struck by an SUV while running along a road in Orange County, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The unfortunate event took place at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Silver Star Road, just east of N. Hiawassee Road, according to information from troopers.

The crash report from the FHP reveals that a 20-year-old man, also from Orlando, was behind the wheel of a 2024 Honda CR-V traveling west on Silver Star Road. The 29-year-old pedestrian, running north, entered the westbound traffic lanes, inadvertently stepping into the path of the SUV. Consequently, the vehicle collided with the runner, as detailed in the report.

Emergency services transported the injured pedestrian to a hospital, where he was sadly declared deceased.

The driver of the SUV emerged from the incident unscathed and stayed at the scene to cooperate with authorities.

Investigators from the Florida Highway Patrol continue to delve into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
