A sophomore at Brown University, who previously endured the 2018 Parkland, Florida school shooting, expressed profound frustration after facing yet another active shooter situation on her current campus.
“I’m extremely upset. It’s infuriating that I’m reliving this nightmare. I’m still in disbelief,” shared Zoe Weissman, 20, speaking to MS NOW.

“Emotionally, it’s as if I’m back to being 12 years old. This feels identical to what I experienced in 2018,” Weissman reflected, recalling the tragic event at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 lives were lost.

Weissman noted that although classes are not currently in session at Brown, students were on campus taking finals before the winter break when a gunman launched an attack on Saturday evening, resulting in two fatalities and nine injuries.
“There are students who’ve survived the Oxford, Michigan school shooting, only to endure another at Michigan State,” she remarked.

“This isn’t a new phenomenon, and we’re going to get to a point where there’s people like myself who survived two of these,” Weissman added.
