CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Authorities have confirmed the death of Frezja Matisse Baker, a mother from North Carolina who had been reported missing. On Thursday, police discovered her lifeless body inside a vehicle, prompting a homicide investigation.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reported that Baker was found unresponsive in her car around 9:35 a.m. She was declared dead at the scene.

The cause of Baker’s death remains undetermined, as stated by police officials.

Authorities noted that Baker was last seen on the evening of December 4th, shortly before 10 p.m., driving her 2004 gray-blue Honda Accord.

Concerned family members had been actively seeking information regarding Baker’s whereabouts earlier in the week, highlighting their worries to the police.

Baker’s mother, who has chosen to remain anonymous, emotionally expressed her desire for her daughter’s safe return, telling ABC affiliate WSOC, “I just want my baby home, I just want her home, I just want her home, in good health and good, that’s all.”

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-8477 (TIPS) and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective — Detective Buhr is the lead detective assigned to this case. The public can also leave information anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or Charlotte Crime Stoppers.
