FX has unveiled the first glimpse of its upcoming series, “The Beauty,” with a captivating trailer that promises intrigue and suspense.

The show is the brainchild of Ryan Murphy and Matthew Hodgson, adapted from the acclaimed comic book series by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley. The ensemble cast features Evan Peters, Rebecca Hall, Ashton Kutcher, Anthony Ramos, and Jeremy Pope. Notably, guest appearances by Bella Hadid, Isabella Rossellini, Ben Platt, Jessica Alexander, and Vincent D’Onofrio add to the star-studded lineup.

Set against the backdrop of the high-stakes fashion world, “The Beauty” takes a dark turn as international supermodels begin to die under grim and puzzling circumstances. The official synopsis reveals that FBI agents Cooper Madsen, portrayed by Peters, and Jordan Bennett, played by Hall, are dispatched to Paris to unravel the mystery. Their investigation uncovers a sexually transmitted virus that transforms ordinary individuals into paragons of physical allure, albeit with dire repercussions.

Their quest for truth brings them face-to-face with “The Corporation,” a shadowy entity led by Ashton Kutcher’s character, a tech billionaire. He has clandestinely developed a miracle drug, ominously called “The Beauty,” and is willing to go to any lengths to safeguard his trillion-dollar empire. This includes deploying his lethal enforcer, known as “The Assassin,” enacted by Anthony Ramos.

In the trailer, Kutcher’s character confidently asserts that he is the ultimate promotion for this revolutionary drug that bestows effortless beauty. Meanwhile, Ramos’ character acknowledges the allure of this “fountain of youth,” while cautioning about the inevitable complications it entails.

Ramos’ character admits “this is the closest to the fountain of youth anyone’s ever gonna get, which of course comes with problems.”

And we see multiple people getting the “beauty shot,” including Bella Hadid who deals with a rather violent side effect.

Will the FBI be able to stop this virus from mutating and save lives? We’ll find out when the first three episodes of “The Beauty” premiere January 21 on FX, Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. New episodes drop each Wednesday.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC station.
