An altercation between Amazon workers at a Texas fulfillment center escalated tragically when one participant arrived with two armed accomplices, leading to a fatal shooting in the parking lot.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting incident around 10 p.m. on Sunday at the 10300 block of U.S. Highway 90 West in San Antonio. Upon arrival, deputies discovered two men with gunshot injuries. Both were transported to a hospital, where one of them, 26-year-old Katrael Delosier, succumbed to his wounds. The second victim remains in stable condition.

Details from a probable cause affidavit accessed by local NBC affiliate WOAI and ABC affiliate KSAT reveal that the surviving victim and another employee had a disagreement earlier that day. The dispute arose because the surviving victim was upset over the other employee “talking smack” and issued a challenge to settle it with a fight during their break.

Unbeknownst to the surviving victim, his opponent had enlisted two armed supporters, David Perez Morales Jr. and Jamari McKillion, both 20 years old. As the confrontation was about to begin, Delosier and the employee approached a Toyota Camry in the parking lot. At this point, Morales emerged from the car and allegedly opened fire. McKillion is accused of acting as the getaway driver. It remains uncertain whether the employee who initiated the fight will face any charges.

Authorities arrested McKillion at another Amazon location and Morales at his residence on Monday. Both individuals are charged with first-degree murder and are held in the Bexar County Jail with bail set at $300,000. Their court appearance is scheduled for April 13.

Cops reportedly arrested McKillion at another Amazon facility and Morales at his home on Monday. Both face charges of first-degree murder and are in the Bexar County Jail on a $300,000 bond. Their next court date is set for April 13.

“[We are] heartbroken by the tragic loss of a valued member of our team and are keeping the victim’s family and loved ones in our thoughts,” Amazon said in a statement to KSAT.  It added that the company was cooperating with police and providing employees and the victim’s family with counseling.
