Federal officials say anti-ICE agitators 'going after the dogs' after Minneapolis kennel incident

In a recent incident that drew attention in Minneapolis, a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) K-9 became the target of protest when an employee at a kennel inscribed “ICE OUT” on the dog’s feeding chart. This move, highlighted by federal officials on Wednesday, has sparked concern among Department of Homeland Security (DHS) representatives.

The DHS revealed that CBP K-9s, like one named “Dina,” are being singled out by anti-ICE activists in Minneapolis. The department took to social media to express their alarm, stating, “At the kennel where K-9 Dina was staying, it was discovered that an employee had written ‘ICE OUT’ on her feed chart. THEY’RE EVEN GOING AFTER THE DOGS!”

The incident adds another layer to the ongoing tension in the city, especially after a 37-year-old, Renee Nicole Good, was shot and killed by an ICE agent on January 7. According to reports, Good was allegedly obstructing an ICE operation and driving towards an agent when the shooting occurred, further inflaming public sentiment.

Details surrounding the specific kennel where Dina was housed, as well as the employment status of the individual responsible for the message, remain unclear. The situation continues to develop as authorities investigate the circumstances and potential implications of this act.

It is unclear which kennel Dina was staying at or the current employment status of the employee allegedly responsible.

Tensions flared in the blue city after 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good was fatally shot Jan. 7 by an ICE agent while allegedly blocking an operation in Minneapolis and driving toward an agent.

Amid escalating protests, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety announced Saturday that, at Gov. Tim Walz’s direction, the state’s National Guard was mobilized and staging to support local law enforcement and emergency management agencies.

Guardsmen have not yet been deployed to city streets but are ready to help support public safety, according to state officials.

A senior U.S. official later confirmed to Fox News the military is preparing 1,500 troops for potential deployment to Minnesota after President Donald Trump’s threat to invoke the Insurrection Act to crack down on anti-ICE agitators.
