An unsettling scene unfolded when an American internet personality, known for her vibrant online presence, was forcibly taken from her distinctive purple Tesla Cybertruck. Having recently relocated from Arizona to Mexico, Nicole Pardo Molina, aged 20, found herself embroiled in a harrowing incident while allegedly involved in the sale of cartel merchandise.

Molina’s journey took a perilous turn on a Tuesday in Sinaloa, Mexico—a region infamous for its criminal activity—when her eye-catching vehicle became the target of a masked gunman’s attack. The assailant deployed tire spikes to immobilize her Tesla, setting the stage for her abduction.

In a tense moment captured on social media, Molina was seen confronting passengers from a white car. As she tried to prevent a backseat passenger’s door from opening, she eventually returned to her vehicle. However, her efforts were thwarted when the masked attacker, conspicuously hiding his features with a red scarf, struggled to extract her from the car.

Faced with difficulty, the unmasked driver of the white car stepped in, and together, the two men forcibly removed Molina from her Tesla. They quickly bundled her into the backseat of their own vehicle, where the masked driver was already positioned, before hastily reversing and speeding away.

The incident underscores the perilous environment of Sinaloa, a state that has long been a nerve center for organized crime and drug trafficking activities in Mexico. Such incidents highlight the ongoing challenges faced by those who find themselves entangled in the dangerous world of cartels.

It is unclear when Molina moved, but she returned to her father’s hometown, which is known to be controlled by a rival faction of the Sinaloa Cartel, which El Chapo once led.

Molina, whose car was highly recognizable, was allegedly selling merchandise bearing the image of El Chapo at the time of the abduction, El País reported.

The OnlyFans star, who was born and raised in Arizona, frequently travels between the city and Culiacán, El País reported.

She was allegedly pursuing business ventures in Mexico after dropping out of school in the US after the COVID-19 pandemic. She previously operated a boutique in the area, but was forced to close it after someone smashed its windows, a woman who had worked nearby told AZ Family. 

There were no reported links between Molina and any Mexican cartels before her kidnapping, but authorities now believe that may be the case. 

Mexican police confirmed Molina’s disappearance and opened a missing person case. They are investigating whether the crime is related to an ongoing turf war between rival cartels. 

The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Sinaloa said that authorities have no information or leads about Molina’s whereabouts and that ‘it is considered that her safety may be at risk, as she could be a victim of a crime.’ 

A Mexican band released a song allegedly about Molina in 2023 called The Lady from El Salado. In the song, it allegedly connected her to a cartel.  

According to the International Federation for Human Rights, in 2024 alone, 3,601 women were reported missing in Mexico, which was a 40 percent increase from the previous year.

Other influencers have also been victims of cartel violence in recent years, such as Valeria Marquez, a fashion model who had more than 600,000 followers on Instagram and was shot dead in May during a livestream.

Investigators believe that the shooter may have been tied to the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel based in Jalisco.
