In the wake of the tragic killing of Alex Pretti in Minnesota, another shooting incident has unfolded in Arizona, involving a Border Patrol agent. This latest event has left an individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, in critical condition following an alleged shooting by a federal officer.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Phoenix is currently probing the incident, which reportedly involved an assault on a federal officer. FBI spokesperson Brooke A. Brennan confirmed in a statement to the Daily Mail that the subject of the incident was taken into custody, emphasizing that the investigation is ongoing and further details are not yet available.

The location of the incident was pinpointed to West Arivaca Road, approximately 10 miles away from the US-Mexico border, at around 7:30 a.m. The Daily Mail has reached out to the Department of Homeland Security for additional comments regarding the circumstances surrounding this case.

Alex Pretti, 37, was on Saturday shot dead by US Border Patrol Tactical Unit agents in Minneapolis, Minnesota

The shooting comes just three days after Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse, was shot and killed by agents and weeks after Renee Nicole Good was shot in Minneapolis.

Pretti, 37, was killed by Border Patrol officers on Saturday during a targeted immigration enforcement operation.

Kristi Noem, the Homeland Security Secretary, claimed after the shooting that officers ‘clearly feared for their lives’.

She said the agents fired defensive shots at Pretti after he ‘violently’ resisted their instructions.

Noem also claimed Pretti was ‘brandishing’ the firearm and suggested Pretti was a domestic terrorist in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.

Gregory Bovino, the US Border Patrol commander-at-large, said Pretti planned to ‘massacre’ federal agents when he was killed.

Pretti’s parents fiercely disputed the federal account and accused the Trump administration of lying.

‘The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting,’ they said in a statement. ‘Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs.’

Witness accounts and videos show Pretti stepping in front of a woman that an agent had thrown to the ground before getting pepper-sprayed in the face and taken to the ground by several officers before gunshots were heard.

Good, also 37, was shot three times in the face by an ICE agent on January 7.

She was shot dead after she allegedly refused officers’ demands to open her car door during a demonstration in Minneapolis.

Noem branded both Pretti and Good as ‘domestic terrorists’.

The internal scrutiny of Noem intensified after the fatal shooting of Pretti, an incident she characterized as an act of ‘domestic terror,’ putting her at odds with Trump.

The President grilled Noem over her handling and initial response to the shooting during their late-night meeting, reports say.

By the end of the night, Noem was ordered to shift her focus away from interior immigration enforcement operations and instead concentrate on securing the Southern Border.

Noem’s longtime rival, White House Border Czar Tom Homan, was ordered by Trump to take over the Minnesota crackdown.
