Sandy Micheal Williams, aged 45, was taken into custody on Monday after police responded to a call at her residence in Bridgeport, Texas. Officers discovered her husband, 46-year-old Michael C. Thomas, deceased with multiple gunshot wounds. The arrest followed a call from Williams’ father-in-law to authorities around 10 p.m. the previous evening, reporting that she had shot his son, according to court documents and coverage by local ABC station WFAA.

Upon police arrival, Williams met them at the door and cooperated as they escorted her to the Wise County Sheriff’s Office. As per the court documents, Williams recounted that she and Thomas, who had been married for three years, engaged in a verbal altercation on Sunday that escalated into physical violence. She alleged that Thomas pulled her down by her ponytail. Following the altercation, Thomas went upstairs, which prompted Williams to retrieve a firearm, pursue him, and subsequently shoot him.

Williams informed police that she had previously warned Thomas about the consequences of laying a hand on her. When questioned about her actions, Williams stated, “My intent was exactly what I did.” When asked if her intention was to kill Thomas, she affirmed, “I absolutely hoped I would.”

Michael C. Thomas was declared dead at the scene.

Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene.

Williams was charged with murder and booked into the Wise County Jail, where she is being held on $50,000 surety bond. Her next court date was not made publicly available.
