The Ministry of Defense in the United Arab Emirates has announced that the nation’s air defense systems successfully intercepted 11 ballistic missiles and 123 drones on Tuesday. These attacks are part of an ongoing offensive by Iran against Gulf countries, a reaction to the joint military operations conducted by the U.S. and Israel.

According to the ministry, one missile did manage to land within UAE borders, but thankfully, it did not result in any injuries or fatalities.

Since the onset of what the UAE has labeled as “blatant Iranian aggression,” the ministry reports that 186 ballistic missiles have been aimed at the nation. Of these, 172 were intercepted, while the remaining 13 plummeted into the sea.

The ministry further disclosed that they have detected 812 Iranian drones, with 755 successfully intercepted. The remaining 57 drones fell within UAE territory. Additionally, eight cruise missiles were identified and neutralized.

The attacks have led to three deaths, involving nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Moreover, 68 individuals sustained minor injuries, including citizens from a variety of countries such as the UAE, Egypt, Ethiopia, the Philippines, and several others.

In response, the statement emphasized that the UAE “reserves its full right to respond to this escalation and to take all necessary measures to protect its territory, people, and residents, safeguarding its sovereignty, security, stability, and national interests.”
