In the early stages of the conflict with Iran, the Pentagon disclosed the identities of four out of six U.S. service members who lost their lives. This revelation came on Tuesday amidst escalating tensions.

The fallen soldiers are Capt. Cody A. Khork, 35, hailing from Winter Haven, Florida; Sgt. 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42, from Bellevue, Nebraska; Sgt. 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, 39, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; and Sgt. Declan J. Coady, 20, of West Des Moines, Iowa. Their lives were tragically cut short on Saturday in Kuwait due to a drone strike by Iranian forces.

These soldiers were part of the 103rd Sustainment Command, an Army Reserve unit positioned in Des Moines, Iowa. This unit plays a crucial role in logistics and supply chain operations.

The attack occurred at Shuaiba port in Kuwait, a dual-purpose commercial and logistic harbor crucial for U.S. military operations, which facilitates the movement of tactical vehicles and essential supplies into the region.

The identities of the remaining two service members are being kept confidential until their families have been informed, with the announcement following a day after notification. The attack also left 18 other service members injured.

This incident marks the initial loss of American lives in the joint military efforts by the U.S. and Israel against Iran, highlighting the grave realities of the ongoing conflict.

The joint U.S.-Israel campaign entered its fourth day Tuesday, with American forces having struck more than 1,700 targets inside Iran as fighting spread across at least a dozen countries.

Trump and top Pentagon officials warned the toll is expected to rise.

“We expect to take additional losses, and as always, we will work to minimize U.S. losses,” Gen. Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Monday.
