Iran's new impotent supreme leader releases first statement — after reports emerge he is in coma, had leg amputated

Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s new supreme leader, has reportedly issued his first statement on Thursday, following rumors of his critical health condition. The reports suggested he was in a coma and had undergone a leg amputation due to injuries sustained during the U.S.-Israeli strikes that resulted in his father’s death.

In a statement broadcasted by Iranian state television, Khamenei, through a presenter, pledged to keep the strategic Strait of Hormuz closed to shipping. As the message was relayed, an image of Khamenei was shown on the screen.

“We will avenge the blood of our martyrs,” Khamenei declared, emphasizing Iran’s resolve.

He expressed gratitude to the nation’s “brave fighters,” acknowledging their efforts during a period of intense pressure and aggression faced by the country.

The ayatollah further stated that Iran would continue its assaults on neighboring Gulf Arab nations, although he maintained that the primary targets were U.S. military installations.

Khamenei’s absence was notable at his own succession rally in Tehran earlier this week. He has not made any public appearances since being named his father’s successor following the February 28 strikes.

The statement came after an Iranian source claimed to The Sun that Khamenei was actually in a coma and undergoing intensive care at the Sina University Hospital in Tehran.

“One or two of his legs have been cut off. His liver or stomach has also ruptured. He is apparently in a coma as well,” the source alleged.

It comes after other Iranian sources insisted Khamenei had only suffered minor injuries — including a fractured foot, bruised eye, and facial lacerations during the initial wave of airstrikes.
