Rama Duwaji deletes old X account after posts praising Palestinian terrorists, using N-word resurface

Rama Duwaji, the wife of Mayor Zohran Mamdani, recently deactivated a former X account following the emergence of posts where she lauded Palestinian militants, criticized Israel, and expressed disdain for the U.S. military.

The 28-year-old first lady of New York City has faced significant criticism over the past fortnight due to her resurfaced social media activities. She decided to close her account after the Washington Free Beacon highlighted a series of concerning posts from her past on platforms like X and Tumblr, dating back to her teenage years and early twenties.

As of Thursday, Duwaji’s X account, previously identified by the username @_RamaDee, has been removed. However, her public Instagram account, boasting 2 million followers, remains live.

The socialist mayor’s spouse has been under intense scrutiny for past online interactions, particularly after it was revealed last week that she had liked Instagram posts glorifying Hamas’ brutal attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. One of these posts controversially suggested that the sexual assaults committed by the terror group were a “mass hoax.”

The Washington Free Beacon uncovered additional contentious posts on Wednesday, with some linked to her identity through facial recognition technology, tracing back her inflammatory remarks to 2013, when she was around 15 years old.

In a 2015 post, she provocatively claimed Tel Aviv “shouldn’t exist in the first place,” labeling its inhabitants as “occupiers,” and in a 2013 post, she used a racial slur.

On her now-inactive Tumblr, she hailed Palestinian plane hijacker Leila Khaled and members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, while reposting a tirade accusing US service members of “mercilessly slaughtering 3rd world civilians” to maintain “American hegemony.”

A December 2015 repost also blamed white people for the creation of al Qaeda, the outlet reported.

Duwaji has remained silent amid the uproar, and City Hall has not answered requests for comment.

However, her husband, a vocal critic of Israel, has jumped to defend his wife’s disturbing digital footprint.

“My wife is the love of my life, and she’s also a private person who has held no formal position on my campaign or in my City Hall,” Mamdani, 34, told reporters last week.

“I, however, was elected to represent all 8.5 million people in the city. And I believe that it’s my responsibility because of that role to answer questions about my thoughts and my politics, and my stances.”
