Trump makes new foul-mouthed threat to Iran: 'Open the F---in’ Strait

On Easter Sunday, President Trump unleashed a fiery verbal attack on Iran, issuing a stark ultimatum regarding the Strait of Hormuz. In his message, he not only criticized the Iranian regime but also invoked a warning that their leaders could face dire consequences if the strait is not opened.

Using his platform on Truth Social, Trump declared, “Tuesday will mark both Power Plant Day and Bridge Day in Iran, all in one. You have never seen anything like it! Open the Strait, you crazy b—–ds, or prepare to live in hell.” He concluded his post with an unexpected “Praise be to Allah,” adding a provocative twist to his warning.

Previously, at the end of last month, Trump had instituted a temporary halt on military strikes targeting Iranian energy facilities, a measure set to expire on Monday. This pause reflects his cautious approach toward attacking power plants, as he is mindful of the potential long-term impact on Iran’s post-conflict recovery.

Nonetheless, Trump’s patience appears to be wearing thin regarding Iran’s actions in the Strait of Hormuz. The strategic waterway is crucial, with over 20% of the world’s seaborne oil passing through it annually. Trump has made it clear that if Iran continues its disruptive activities there, more severe measures, including targeting power infrastructure, are not out of the question.

But he’s also made clear that such attacks won’t be off the table if Iran continues to create mayhem in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint, where over a fifth of the world’s seaborne oil flows through on an annual basis.
