Senator Tim Sheehy, a Republican from Montana, encountered a critical situation on Friday when he had to execute an emergency landing due to an engine malfunction while flying a plane.

Mike Berg, the senator’s chief of staff, explained that Sheehy was participating in his biannual routine flight training at the time of the incident.

“This afternoon, during his regular flight training exercise which he undertakes twice annually, Sen. Sheehy’s plane suffered a mechanical engine failure,” Berg reported in a statement.

Berg further detailed that Sheehy, along with his co-pilot, managed to safely bring the aircraft down in a field.

“Thankfully, both pilots emerged unscathed,” he confirmed.

The emergency landing took place in a field near Ennis, Montana, as reported by KBZK.

The outlet reported that Sheehy is an FAA-certified commercial pilot and certified flight instructor.

Reached for comment, Sheehy’s office referred Fox News Digital to Berg’s statement.
