Last week, an unsettling act of aggression unfolded on the Upper East Side when an unknown assailant violently attacked an elderly man, police reported.

The attacker confronted the 75-year-old outside a grocery store on York Avenue, close to East 83rd Street, around 5:20 p.m. on Friday. The two began arguing, according to police accounts.

In a sudden escalation, the attacker allegedly shoved the senior to the pavement, the NYPD stated.

Following the fall, the aggressor unleashed a flurry of punches and kicks before fleeing south along York Avenue, officers noted.

Although the victim sustained minor injuries from the incident, he did not require hospitalization.

The reason behind the altercation remains unknown at this time.

Video shows the suspect walking in the store wearing a gray hat, a pair of shades, a blue jacket and black pants.
