Alex Buetikofer, aged 38 and a resident of Lisle, was apprehended last Friday. According to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, his charges include grooming, solicitation to meet a child, traveling to engage in a sexual offense with a minor, and aggravated battery.

Buetikofer previously held positions as a lacrosse coach at Hinsdale Central High School and as a teacher within the Plainfield School District 202.

The accusations against him involve inappropriate conduct with a student under his supervision.

The allegations first came to District 86’s attention on March 18, when Buetikofer was still serving as an assistant boys lacrosse coach.

District 86 “took all necessary steps to protect our students” and “ceased all association” with Buetikofer on March 19, Lach said. He was formally fired on March 26.

Lach said District 86 has no information indicating that any of its students are involved, but the district is fully cooperating with law enforcement as they investigate.

Buetikofer is set to appear in court in Kendall County on Monday.
