In honor of America’s upcoming 250th anniversary, the State Department has unveiled a new design for U.S. passports that prominently features President Trump. This special edition is set to commemorate the nation’s milestone celebration with a unique artistic touch.
According to renderings obtained by The Post, the inside cover of these passports will showcase an engraved-style portrait of President Trump. His image is artfully set against the backdrop of the Declaration of Independence and a sweeping American flag. Beneath his portrait, his distinctive signature appears in gold, accompanied by the inscription, “United States of America.”
Adding to the historical theme, the iconic painting by John Trumbull, which captures the moment the founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence, is prominently displayed on a separate page. This famous artwork is superimposed over an American flag, further emphasizing the nation’s rich history.

The back cover of the passport features a nod to the past, with a navy-and-gold depiction of the first official American flag adopted by Congress in 1777. Unique to this design is the inclusion of the number “250” centered among the 13 stars, symbolizing the nation’s quarter-millennium celebration.
“As the United States looks forward to celebrating its 250th anniversary in July, the State Department is preparing to release a limited number of specially designed U.S. passports to mark this historic occasion,” stated Tommy Pigott, a spokesperson for the State Department.

The passports, which are optional, will have a limited run of 250,000 and only be available in the Washington Passport Agency office.
The new designs will not compromise the document’s various security features.
“These passports will feature customized artwork and enhanced imagery while maintaining the same security features that make the US Passport the most secure documents in the world,” Pigott noted.
The commemorative passport is one of several “America250” initiatives the Trump administration is undertaking to celebrate the nation’s semiquincentennial.
A Grand Prix race on the National Mall is planned for August under the banner, as well as a UFC fight on the White House South Lawn set to take place in June.
The official also said that the new passport designs, which are optional, will be available for any American citizen who applies for a passport when the rollout happens and will continue for as long as there is availability.
