Former President Trump has called on New York City’s Mayor, Zohran Mamdani, to value billionaires like Ken Griffin, following Griffin’s threat to abandon a Park Avenue skyscraper project and relocate to Miami due to the mayor’s socialist critiques.
“The loss of individuals of that caliber is often irreparable,” Trump remarked during an interview with WABC radio’s Sid Rosenberg.
“Typically, you might think such losses can be reversed,” Trump continued. “However, once they move on, they often establish new ventures that keep them away for decades. They rarely return. Instead, leaders should focus on appreciating these individuals.”
He emphasized, “Engage with them personally. Invite them to your office, share a meal, reassure them of their importance. Assure them of support for their projects and make their stay worthwhile. It’s not a complex task, yet it seems some struggle with it.”

“Losing someone like Ken would indeed be a significant setback for New York,” Trump concluded.
